The Welcomme Space
This grassy, one acre site situated in The Fields, Hingham was purchased by the founding members of Hingham Playing Field Association in 1982 to provide a recreation space for the children of the town.
This much loved space has benefited from extensive investment in 2025/6 to provide a new Zipwire, roundabout, basket swing and two pieces of multiplay equipment for the under 5 year olds, as well as repairs to existing equipment.
Further equipped with goalposts; a basketball hoop and plenty of seating, its a safe and fun, family orientated place.

Grants and donations for recent works were received from National Lottery Community Awards, Hingham Town Council, Norfolk County Council Community Award, Office of Police & Crime Commissioner Police Property Act Fund, Hingham Charity, Hardingham Fuel Allotment Charity, Hingham Santa’s Grotto, Abel Homes as well as individual donors.
Thanks are also due to Premier Playgrounds and HAGS UK for provision of under 5’s equipment via a third party social enterprise scheme.
