The HPFA Committee
2025 marked a reset year for Hingham Sports Centre. Our committee evolved from an interim group into an established, motivated team, setting a clear strategy for 2026 and beyond: to revitalise our outstanding facility with a strong focus on community sport.
Hingham Sports Centre is owned by the Hingham Playing Field Association (HPFA, registered charity no. 286060) and is run by a dedicated committee of volunteers. Together, we are committed to sustaining and developing our facilities in a planned and financially responsible way, ensuring long-term benefits for the physical and mental health of local residents.
Building on solid foundations, we aim to create more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to be active, social, and healthy. Although we meet monthly, much of our progress happens between meetings.
The use of WhatsApp has transformed how we collaborate, enabling a dynamic, responsive, and effective approach. As a community charitable organisation, we also place great importance on nurturing our strong relationship with Hingham Town Council.
In addition to managing Hingham Sports Centre, HPFA oversees a second key project — the Welcomme Space, a children’s play area based in Hingham — further extending our commitment to supporting healthy, active lifestyles across the community.
