Fundraising

As a registered charity, the Hingham Playing Fields Association (HPFA) relies on a combination of fundraising, grants, and income generated through the hire of Hingham Sports Centre to meet essential running costs and to sustain these valued community facilities.

Without the continued support and generosity of local people, these facilities would sadly be at risk. It is therefore vital that we maintain strong momentum in our fundraising efforts, enabling us not only to keep the centre operational, but also to invest in much-needed improvements to our buildings, grounds, and play spaces for the long-term benefit of the community.

Fundraising Success Stories

In the last two years, around £100k of investment has been secured through grant applications and crowdfunding.  These funds have been used to improve the children’s playspaces at both the Welcomme space and the Sports Hall.

In 2026 we raised £18000 from crowdfunding and club donations. and invested a further £25k to install a Pulastic Sports Floor in the hall. This provides an excellent surface for multiple sports and is compliant with Sports England standards. This significant upgrade to the facilities was achieved thanks to all those who supported our fundraising efforts and to Sports England Movement Fund who awarded a £6k grant towards the project.

We sell advertising space at the Sports Centre for £200 for one year's advertising in the hall, and £250 for an outdoor board. The advertising boards are professionally designed and manufactured to your specification. The advertising duration may be extended after one year on payment of an additional, reduced fee. Please contact us for further information.

Current Fundraising

Our next improvement project is the Sports Centre Car Park which is currently compacted and potholed. We need to raise just over £50k to provide hard-standing parking spaces for wheelchair users; excavate, level and kerb the existing parking area and finally, level and surface the overflow car park so it's useable year round. These measures will improve the accessibility and appearance of the Centre, and reduce the need for parking on nearby roads when events are held.
