WELCOME TO HINGHAM
SPORTS CENTRE

Welcome to the new website for the Hingham Sports Hall and Playing Fields. The Hall is a gem of a resource in the town of Hingham, offering much needed sports facilities and activity classes for residents as well as plenty of open space for children and families, a cricket pitch and two football pitches, outdoor gym equipment, a play space, a skateboard park and a lovely grassed area for dog walkers. The Sports Hall is situated on the Watton Road B1108 at the west end of Hingham with ample parking in front of the Hall.

Inside the building, there is a spacious Hall marked out for three badminton courts, a basketball court and Pickleball courts. Upstairs within the hall promotes a large balcony area, offering a meeting room or space suitable for small classes, plus seating areas for spectators. There is also a kitchen along with newly refurbished toilets (including disabled provision) along with the Hingham Sports and Social Club (Abrahams bar and clubhouse) which offers a licensed bar and coffee lounge.

This website will give you an introduction to the sports and activities we offer, a calendar of events and information about how to book the Hall and to stage events. Please do drop in and see us one day.

The HPFA manages both the Sports Hall and Playing Field along with the Welcome Play Space of Hardingham Road. All the clubs, including the Hingham Sports & Social Club (HSSC now Abrahams), which use the premises, are independent of the Hingham Playing Fields Association. Each club pays the HPFA for use of the facilities, either annually or by season. Some clubs pay monthly for regular bookings and new or occasional users are also welcomed on a ‘pay to play’ arrangement. We welcome bookings for private, community and public events, parties, craft fairs and weddings. Hire can include the use of the kitchen and Abrahams bar. If your sports club or class is looking for a home, or you want to book an event please do get in touch, using the contact form. If you would like to get more involved, we also welcome volunteers to sit on the HPFA committee.

The range of clubs and sports activities on offer at the Sports Hall is huge. They include Abrahams Bar & Clubhouse, Hingham Cricket Club, Hingham Tennis Club, Hingham AG Football Club,as well as Hingham Bowmen (Archery), Short Mat Bowls, Norfolk and Norfolk Over-60s Short Mat Bowls Clubs, Badminton, Judo classes, line dancing, pickle ball, table tennis and tennis lessons.

The HPFA also manage the children’s playground outside the Hall and the Welcome Play Space at the other end of the town.

Fundraising events and musical evenings are staged throughout the year, masterminded by the amazing Tracey who is our hall manager.

The hall is available to hire at very reasonable rates for functions and all manner of sporting events. For further information please contact our Hall Manager – Tracey Scent on 07717 312302 or email traceyscent@hotmail.co.uk
